History of the Band The Band
Shipyard Wreck was formed in December of 2000 by James Gagne, Peter Magalhaes, Dan O'Rourke, Peter Lucas and Adam Dykas. The trio known as "Two Fat Guys & A Portugee" added some members to form the first instance of the band. Over the years, the band's momentum kept pace for their many, many shows at parties, weddings, bars, clubs, festivals, etc.
Today, Shipyard Wreck's debut album, "Reflect & Shine", has sold over 3,000 copies with songs from the album featured in MTV's MADE, "1918 The Film" and other various films. The music can be heard on WHJY-FM 94.1 in Providence, RI, WMVY-FM 92.7 from Martha's Vineyard and many other radio stations.
The band has been through many setbacks, struggles and yet they still strive to be the "hardest working band" (Sean McCarthy, The Standard-Times) from the SouthCoast Massachusetts area. The current band's facade features the amazing guitar work of John Fernandes teamed up with James Gagne's stunning vocals. In the rhythm section, Peter Magalhaes continues to prove his abilities on drums and backup vocals while Bill Ferri's incredible bass skills undertone everything. You can also sometimes see friends Marcus Monteiro dazzle the stage with his superb saxophone overtones, Neal McCarthy jam dirty blues with the band and many other friends join the stage to make our shows even more beautiful.
Currently, the band is preparing to record their follow-up album while continuing to play all over the SouthCoast Massachusetts area and New England. The band has been up to Maine, down to Connecticut and everywhere in between, but who knows what the future will bring. One thing is certain, this band is here to stay and to make an impact on every ear they fill with music and will stop at nothing to get where they are going.

It's just a motto, but at least it represents something...
Some fans get tanked, others wrecked by our music. Some dance, some just enjoy. Some socialize, some relax. One way or the other, we are here to show you who we are and to bring some decent music to our money-hungry music industry. We play what we feel and how we feel it. At every show, whether it be for 100 people or 100,000 fans, we hope you get one thing out of it - good music.
Help us put our hometown on the map and get us out there to show the world our music!

Band's Beer Pong Rules
  • Player Configuration: 1-on-1 or 2-on-2
  • Number of Cups: 22 cups
  • Number of Balls: 2
  • Number of Beers: 2 per side (optional: 3 for a good night)

  • Place 10 cups in triangular formation (1-2-3-4) and place additional water cup to right side of table for ball cleaning.
  • Each team takes one ball to begin the game. Both must look at each other in the eye and throw blind. If two players, switch until one team gets it in. That team will throw first.
  • Each team throws 2 balls. Bouncing is allowed and will result in a 2-cup penalty for the opposing team. If both balls bounce in, then the opposing team will drink a total of 4 cups.
  • If both balls enter the same cup, the game is automatically over and the opposing team must drink all the cups!
  • During a bounce, the opposing team can deflect the ball after its first contact with the table.
  • Team that hits all cups on opposite side wins the game.
  • After 4 cups have been eliminated, a "SHITSON" may be initiated if the team calls for it. At that point, re-arrange the cups to a 6-cup triangle and continue. This may happen with 4 or 2 cups remaining as well. Place 4 cups into a diamond-shape and 2 into a straight line.
  • When one cup remains, the team targeting it must get both balls in it in order to finish the game. Otherwise, if only one goes in, the opposing team drinks the beer and has a 2-shot rebuttle. In the case of a team hitting both balls on a rebuttle attempt, the game will go into 6-cup overtime. Place 6 cups per side with the water cup still on the right and play as normal until game ends. Additional overtime games may be played until the game terminates. If a rebuttle attempt only hits one ball in a cup, the opposing team will drink the cup and that team wins, as they were the first to hit the last cup for their setup.
  • Bitch's Blow only allowed when women are present and men cannot do it! Bitches Blow is if a ball spins around the cup before it sinks in, a female may blow it out.
  • For extra fun, we sometimes play with an "extraneous bounce" cup. Fill a beer pong cup with beer, straight up booze, anything you find interesting! If a player bounces or if a ball at any time bounces into that cup, a designated extraneous bounce person must chug it down in less than 15 seconds.
